day 2!

I actually let myself sleep in for once today!  This is HUGE for me.  I am one that has been in the routine of hitting the gym at 7a every.single. Saturday and Sunday for I couldn’t even tell you how long.  I have been so sore lately though, and worn out, that I decided to actually not set an alarm clock for once and to just wake up next to my husband.

I finally got myself out of bed around 10 and made some breakfast, started laundry, and then made my way to the basement to sweat on day 2!  Can’t give up!

Wii Zumba!

I started out with a 20 minute Wii Zumba session, followed by some of my favorite Zumba songs that I completely failed on.  At least it made me laugh like crazy.

Then I went to the wall and did the full “Prevention- No Squats Belly, Butt, and Thighs Workout” This thing is NO JOKE!!!!!

NO JOKE!

Once I finished torturing myself with this mess, I moved on to more self-torture…….

My friend Christiana started doing the June ABS challenge….I did them yesterday after the run and it wasn’t too horrible, so I moved on to day 2 today, and What the heck!  I don’t like ab work.  At all.  Hopefully by day 30 I will love it!

Then since I hate myself a LOT today apparently, I decided to do another challenge that I found on Instagram…@mindovermunch…..the #BackExtensionMonth  I actually LOVE this stretch/core challenge.  I think this one will be awesome.

over-achiever!

After that I did a 30 minute BL workout and then called it done.  I was sweating, and that was the goal.  I am annoyed I didn’t get miles today, but I definitely need the break.  Its only day 2, I will make it up and still hit over 200 this month.  I just really didn’t want to leave the house today, even out on the trail.  It WILL be ok.  I know I sound psycho…but I’m really just dedicated.

The plan for tomorrow is to hit the gym early, because I have to be at training for work by 9.

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!!!!

day 1!

June 1st started #sweateverydayinjune

I am doing this with several friends, but especially one that I recently reconnected with that I was close with in high school…..Jen!

So, why not start out the month with a 5k?!

me with a lucky odd number bib for once! 🙂

There were 1,255 women that ran the 5k, and I came in 325th.  Which is huge for me.  This was the very first 5k that I did ever…in 2012.  I have accomplished so much in one year.

Last year : 48:56.7 15:46/mi 913/1134

This year: 35:23.6 11:24/mi 325/1255

This was definitely not my best race.  Time wise.  I can do better.  I will do better.  BUT, I felt amazing.  I ran more than I have ever run during the 3.1 miles.  Especially if you knew how sore I was from the weeks runs/workouts.  My legs were toast.  I didn’t prepare the way I should have.  I didn’t even take Friday off.  Friday was an 11+ mile day.  Overall, I would say it was my best yet!

This month was a rough one!

I usually try to be at 100 by the 15th.  This month I was way behind, at 70.34.

On the 30th, I was at 184.97.  This would have been my first month under 200 miles since November.  I decided that there was NO WAY I could let that happen.  Last night, I took my lazy butt on a grueling 6.25 mile HOT run.  Really, a jog.  Sweat my arms off.  It hurt, a lot.

That put me closer…….but then I also needed to get to the gym this morning.  I wasn’t quite sure where I was at miles wise, because I left my log at work.  So, I pulled out an 11.14!  I was going to just do 12 again, but I was D.O.N.E.

In the end, I ended my month with 202.34!!!!!  Also, a ton of self-pride!  My YTD = 1078.93!

I did 40.425 on the bike, which is not in this number

I did only 28.25 outside this month…which needs changed.

The awesome thing, I have almost already beat my total from last year, ALREADY!  WOW!!!!

strong.

never give up on a dream just because of the time it will take to accomplish it.

I finally hit over 12 today. I have been working so hard to get here, and it finally happened.

I was very consistent with 7 for a very long time, then I decided I wanted to do 9. I did it fairly easily. So I made up my mind I would do 10 within 70 minutes. It took me a couple rough weeks, but I did it. Once that happened, I was determined to hit 11. That one took a couple months of going to the gym 6 days a week and running outside.

Now I have been doing 11 pretty consistently for a while, so I keep going faster and faster, doing hills with it, and then I thought, why not try for 12?!

Today was the day! Last night I committed to doing 12. This morning I woke up and just made it HAPPEN!

I don’t try.  I do.

Not going to lie, it was tough.  But, I did it! Image
